Between expression and abstraction, tradition and the avant-garde, in a resonant space where these and more elements conjoin, is where you can find transnational experimental trio, Gordan, fusing traditional Balkan vocalisations with controlled feedback, electronic sound generators, pulsing bass and expressive drumming. The fluid rhythmic pulse is driven by Austrian drummer, producer, composer and cross-genre collaborator, Andi Stecher, forging a path through the resonant electronic undergrowth conjured up by Berlin-based, improvisational sound-shape invoker, Guido Möbius, both drawing from the deep well of knowledge embodied in the powerful voice of renowned Serbian performer, researcher and educator, Svetlana Spajić, who has spent 25 years roaming the Balkans, learning from village singers, assimilating a repertoire she has expanded upon with her female vocal ensemble and international collaborations with Marina Abramovic, Robert Wilson, Antony and the Johnsons, and many more.
