Kass-Talsi-Minn

Estonia

Three accomplished musicians who regularly play different genres come together in search of a universal expression: Simone Minn is viola player and singer of foremost trad-folk revivalists, Kvintrad; Villu Talsi is a virtuosic mandolinist, a familiar figure on Estonia’s folk and bluegrass scenes, and known farther afield for his band, Curly Strings; and bassist and composer Peedu Kass, a major figure across the genres in the Estonian music scene, is renowned for his electric, acoustic, and synth-bass skills, in performance and in the studio and with ensembles ranging from small groups to full orchestras. With a total of 16 strings, the triumvirate of musical ambassadors weave a deeply melodic tapestry from multi-hued skeins of Nordic minimalism, European classicism, and global eclecticism. New old music now.
