Malkit Singh / Golden Star

India / UK

Living Bhangra legend Malkit Singh MBE is a true Punjabi icon, often hailed as the ‘King of Bhangra’, and with good reason. He has brought Punjabi culture to worldwide audiences in a spectacular, nearly four decades long career. Malkit moved from India to Birmingham, UK, in 1983 and since the success of his first release in 1986 has played a major role in making that city the home of Bhangra. In 1990 his trademark anthem, Tutak Tutak Toothiyan, earned a listing in the Guinness Book of Records as the biggest selling Bhangra song of the time. Since then, he has performed in over 40 countries, released 35 albums and received countless awards and accolades along the way. Showing no signs of slowing down, 2025 has seen him touring in the USA, Canada, UK and India.
