Yeison Landero is one of the leading exponents of Sabanera Music from the Montes de Maria Region in the Colombian Caribbean. He is the grandson of the legendary Andrés Landero, known as The King of Cumbia, from whom he began learning accordion at the age of seven. Yelson has donned the mantle of this legacy and, as the creator of the International Cumbia Fest, and founder of the Fundación Landero Vive, actively works to preserve and promote Cumbia, fostering new generations of musicians and performers nationally and internationally. He has performed across the Americas, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, represented Colombia at The World Expo Dubai 2021 and The Global Environment Summit COP16 held in Cali, Colombia in 2024. In 2023 he was awarded the Congo de Oro at the Barranquilla Carnival’s Festival de Orquestas.
